Connection and Alienation in Urban Space

This is an NPR story about an outdoor film projection by Douglas Aitken. After our discussion about Georg Simmel’s “The Metropolis and Mental Life,” I thought this was a cool example of the way art explores the kind of connections felt by individuals in urban space. What do you think of the video? How does it compare to the implied connections between characters in Magnolia (one of my absolute favorite films, by the way)?
